Previcox Emails
"Pit Bull" I actually give my 60 lb Pit
1/2 of the 227 mg tablet each morning so it looks like
he's getting just under the amount for his weight
which makes me feel better about what I've been giving him.
It is so sad to hear the vets are being so
irresponsible with our precious pets. I'm so happy to hear Duke has several new playmates.
You sound like a girl after my own heart.
I've currently got 3 dogs...all rescued...two picked up off the
street, one from the humane society and we had a fourth that found us
but he passed away nearly two years ago of cancer.
Best of luck to you and your pack!
Pit Bull I am so sorry for your loss of Rowdy. I know the pain of losing a beloved pet and it definitely leaves a hole in your heart for a very long time. Especially when you know it could have been prevented. Duke is a beautiful dog. Sounds like he might need a new friend. I have a pit bull that has been on Previcox for about 6 months for arthritis. My vet did blood work prior to putting him on it and everything was in order. He has made incredible improvement in his mobility since on this medication although when I first started giving it to him it was upsetting his stomach and he would vomit within a couple of days of giving it to him. Not projectile or excessive though. Now I mix it in with his food and there is no problem at all and now he romps and plays like he did before the arthritis set in. He's an older dog and I figure if I can make the rest of his days comfortable it's worth some risk of possible liver damage because before the Previcox he could barely get up and move around. Having read your story has now made me aware that
meds can be mis-prescribed for dogs and I will be more alert when meds
are prescribed for my precious 3 dogs and do a little research before
giving it to them.
