Previcox Emails
"Maddie" Hi there, I have just read your interesting article on Previcox. Our Border Collie was on Rimadyl for ten days followed by Previcox. On the third day after administration of the Previcox, she became listless, off her food and drink. Her back legs collapsed and she remained in her basket until I could get her to the vet on Monday morning. The vet found her to be extremely anaemic with hb. of only 6. I gather it should be 12. She was then kept in a cage in the vets for 48 hours on a drip. She is now at home with me, eating and drinking normally but now on another series of drugs, Gaviscon and Zimat to counteract the side effects of the first lot of drugs. Our Collie has always been a very fit, healthy dog and now we are left with a huge bill probably through no fault of our own. As you say, vets should inform us about the side effects of these drugs. In the future, I shall remain very wary of any further medication for our dog. I am so sorry to hear of your bad experience. Elizabeth H. |
