"Shadow"

First, let me say a HUGE Thank You for your website!!! An hour ago as I started to lay down for the night I noticed my 13 yr old Chow "Shadow" start to shake fiercely. I quickly woke my husband and we knelt by her side as she had what we think was a seizure which lasted at least 3 minutes. It was horrible. Her body twisting, foaming at the mouth, loosing her bladder. We could do nothing but be by her side and reassure her we loved her.

She is non-aggressive and very dainty. We could tell she was ashamed about making a mess. We allowed her up when she was able and watched carefully as she staggered around for a few minutes. She finally relaxed and layed down like normal. We thought it must just be getting that time for her to move on as she is very old for a Chow. But then my husband asked, what about that new medicine?

I immediately Googled "Previcox" and found your website. She had been prescribed 1/2 a 227 mg tablet a day for 2 weeks to see how she would do with it (for arthritis).

Well, I only gave her 1/2 tablet every other day over 2 weeks. After reading your site, I will not be giving her anymore. I thank you so much for taking the time to inform others. I was not given any paperwork from my vet either and didn't even think to ask. Never again!
