Thank-you for your web-site/ article about the dangers of Previcox. Why/how can vets prescribe this stuff! My German Shepherd tore his cruciate and is limping badly and was put on Previcox (1/2 pill in 24 hrs) for a month so it can scar up and get scar tissue. The operation would be next to impossible with him since he is hyper and I can't see how I could keep him still for 6-8 weeks.

Anyway, I was away for over a week and came home to find that he was no better. The Previcox was to continue and today I noticed intense anxiety and lack of appetite and diaherra with the poor guy.

He just wanted to get out and run. Very, very anxious and trembling. I called to find out if these could be side effects to the Previcox and was told no, to give him 3 Benedryl. Good GOD. Talk about jacking the poor dog's sytem all over the place.

I am currently in my 1st semester to be a vet tech and am learning stuff but don't know about pharmaceutical stuff yet. You'd think that the vet would, HUH!? Very distressing. Sometimes I think we are all just guinea pigs, for human doctors and vets!

Tomorrow NO Previcox and prehaps a low dose aspirin every 4 hours or so? I'll see how he does.

Again, thanks for the clarity. Gotta love the web when you can't trust the doctors!!!! :)

Blessings!
