Thank you for your website!

My Madison is only just recovering from her Previcox experience in September, leaving the ER for the third time, today with a Prednisone prescription.  Thank you for getting the word out, she had a horrible reaction that caused her throat to swell up and left her unable to breathe, she has never been the same since being prescribed Previcox and anyone you can save from the experience makes all the work worth it.

Thank You,

Jennifer

Hi Mel,

Thank you for your email, I will contact Merial directly for a case number.

Madison was given the 57mg probably because she is under 15lbs., she was almost four at the time in September.

We started Previcox dosage twice a day and on the morning of the third day she vomited her dinner.  At that time I stopped the Previcox and the next morning she had to be rushed to the ER with excessive drooling, unable to eat her wet food and trouble breathing (so much so that she fell over and her tongue and gums turned blue).

She spent the night in the ER and came home with the same symptoms, with so much drooling that you had to constantly wipe her mouth as she was not able to swallow or breathe properly when excited.

It has been a long road since the Previcox and knee surgery with her most recently being diagnosed with immune mediated poly arthritis.  She was unable to move around or get carried without allot of pain and had to keep her head down to relieve the pain.  She started shaking constantly.  The new doctor is hesitant to link these occurrences but says the drug reaction could have played a part.

It has been a little over 24hrs on the prednisone and doxycycline and already the shaking has stopped and she is able to walk outside on her own.

Thanks Again,

Jennifer
