Hi Mel, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Rowdy was a dog that we would all like to own and I hope you will always rememberr the great times you spent with him.

I am writing to tell you about my Golden Retriever, Bear. He was prescribed Previcox about 6 months ago for arthritis in his paws and responded very well to this medication, but just the last two days he has become very lethargic and won't eat.

I took him to the vet yesterday and they did a blood workup and will let me know the results today but the Vet did mention that his red blood cell count was low and his bone marrow may not be producing enough new red cells for him. They want to see him again today and check his red cell again to see if they are going lower or stabilizing. 

I am taking him off the Previcox as of today and will tell the vet this. I hope he will recover and be able to run and play again. I went online today because I just felt I should check out the possible side effects of this drug. In reading your article about Rowdy and other wonderful dogs, I have answered my scepticism about this drug.
