Hello. My name is Ashley Taylor. My husband and I just recently lost our 1 1/2 year old Boxer, Rocco, to Previcox. I was wondering how you approached Merial about this horrible situation. I have contacted them, but they haven't even offered one time to pay for anything. All they will say is that they are sorry. I know they can't replace our precious Rocco, but they could at least offer to pay for all that we tried to do for him to save him.

Rocco had to have bilateral Hock surgery for a condition called OCD. I was given Previcox to give to him afterwards. After being on the drug for almost one week, I came home from work and he was completely not there. He was vomiting, just wanting to sleep and drink water all the time.

By Thursday he was completely down on us and we brought him in. I had been doing supportive care on him at home, but it wasn't enough. The doctors prior to this were stumped. His blood work wasn't bad at all on Tuesday and by Thursday his blood work showed Kidney Failure and he was in DIC.

On Friday we got the dreaded phone call that Rocco just wasn't doing good at all. Neurology had looked at him and they said he was basically gone. He had probably bled on his brain from the DIC and there was nothing more they could do. At approx. 5:00pm my husband had made it to tell Rocco good-bye even though he knew that we wasn't there. I was just wondering what happened with your situation.
